9 Maldivians secure world top rank in O-Level subjects
The names of the remaining four will be announced on the second half of the event, on Thursday night.

Nine Maldivian students secured world number one rank in various subjects in the O-Level examination conducted last year.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih presented the awards to the students at a ceremony held at Dharubaaruge Wednesday evening.
Five out of the nine students who finished on top were announced at the prize distribution ceremony, which will be held over two nights.

All of these students stood first in English. They bagged the number one position in the world as well as the country in the subject.

Last year, a total of 867 students made it to the country-level top 10 list. A total of 429 students received prizes at the ceremony on Wednesday night.
Every year, Maldivian students compete with other students from all over the world, at a global level. 16 Maldivian students have made it to the world top 10 this time as well. They are:

In last year's examination, Ahmadiya International School had the highest number of students in the national top 10. A total of 54 students from the school were ranked among the best.
For the first time, students from Arabiyya School are also competing in the top 10 this year.
