MTCC contracted to develop Nilandhoo, Bilehdhoo harbours

Planning ministry on Wednesday signed agreements with MTCC to develop harbours in Nilandhoo and Bilehdhoo islands in Faafu atoll.

Ministry's Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Hameed and MTCC CEO Adam Azim signed both the agreements, at a ceremony held at the planning ministry.

Development of a harbour in Nilandhoo, an island which has a population of 2,000 people, has been awarded at a cost of MVR 66.6 million and to be completed in 510 days.

Development of a harbour in Bilehdhoo, an island which has a population of about 1,500 people, has been awarded at a cost of MVR 72.3 million and to be completed in 450 days.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Independent MP from Nilandhoo constituency Abdul Muhsin Hameed and Bilehdhoo MP Ahmed Haleem.
