Atoll Times has confirmed that one of the people injured in Saturday's marine accident involving a speedboat and dinghy is in critical condition.
Four people were injured in the accident that occurred while the speedboat was entering Hulhumale marina Saturday evening. The injured are two foreigners and two Maldivians onboard the dingy.
Atoll Times has learned that two of the injured people are still being treated in hospital. The Maldivian among the two is in critical condition.

His ribs were crushed in the accident
-
He is being transferred to ADK Hospital for surgery
-
The other is a Chinese woman who was also in the dinghy; it is not confirmed yet if she is a tourist
-
The woman is recovering now
MNDF had earlier told reporters that when the speedboat crashed into the dinghy, one of the passengers on the dinghy fell into the water, and the speedboat had driven over him.
The remaining passengers on the dinghy called MNDF because they were unable to save the man, and a military diver arrived on scene and immediately jumped in and rescued the man.
It is highly likely that the man MNDF claims to have rescued is the man in critical condition now, but crew of the Sea Shine speedboat rejects MNDF's claims.
A crewman said that the first one to jump in to save the man who had fallen off the dinghy was Sea Shine’s captain himself. He did add that MNDF had aided in the rescue.
The crewman also denies that the speedboat had driven over the man in the sea.
