Another Maldivian pilgrim who went to Mecca to perform the Hajj pilgrimage has died on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Ali Hassan, 72, of Fiyaathoshige/Dh. Maaenboodhoo.
Ali Hassan went for Hajj under care of the state-run Hajj Corporation.
The Islamic ministry said he died at 6:18 pm local time while undergoing treatment at a Saudi hospital.
"We pray for the deceased's eternal rest in paradise and for his family's strength," the ministry said in a tweet.
