MTCC has completed reclaiming 25 hectares of land under a land reclamation and shore protection project in HA. Ihavandhoo.
MTCC said in a tweet on Thursday evening that its chartered excavator, Filipo Burneleshi, was mobilised on Thursday to reclaim land for a project, which involves linking Sh. Kamandoo with the uninhabited island of Mathikomandoo in the same lagoon, after finishing the land reclamation in Ihavandhoo.
MTCC said the Ihavandhoo land reclamation project is worth MVR 116.94 million and includes dredging of 25 hectares of land and laying of 850 metres of large stone revetment.
MTCC had earlier reported it had brought in a new dredger from a Belgian company to continue the dredging works entrusted to it by the government.
