The Commissioner General of Customs (CGC) has retired.
Abdulla Shareef, who retired after 28 years of service in Customs, was appointed as the CG of Customs in June 2020 by this government. It was after the death of Ahmed Nooman, who was in office at the time.
Shareef was then the Deputy Commissioner General.
Shareef started working in Customs right after finishing school. He has held various positions and responsibilities in the Customs. He has also participated in many training programs in the field.
With the news of Shareef's retirement, Customs said it appreciated his efforts to strengthen and modernize Customs services and operations since taking over as CG.
