The death toll from dengue in the Maldives has risen to five this year.
A young man being treated at R. Ungoofaaru hospital and a 9-year-old receiving treatment at IGMH in capital Male died from dengue on Tuesday. IGMH's paediatric doctor Ahmed Faisal said that the child passed away on the third day of his treatment on ventilator.
According to statistics shared by the Health Protection Agency (HPA), the number of dengue cases recorded this year stands at:
-
July - 322
-
August - 268
-
September - 229
IGMH's Faisal said:
-
