Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to appoint Ibrahim Mahir as the chief judge of the Family Court.
The post of Chief Judge of the Family Court was vacated following the appointment of then Family Court chief judge Huzaifa Mohamed to the High Court in June.
JSC said in a statement on Thursday that Mahir was appointed as the Chief Judge of the Family Court after interviewing the applicants following the announcement made on August 31.
JSC said the decision was made during a commission meeting on October 5.
