Rasdhoo youth offer gifts to bully victim in show of support

Aaras Group said it opposes bullying and injustice and will do everything it can as youth of the island to protect it.

The youth of A.A.Rasdhoo have come together and made special gifts to the 12-year-old boy who was bullied in the mosque of the island.

The child was forced into the toilet area of Rasdhoo mosque while he was praying Taraweeh, and another two young boys, aged 13 and 14 had beaten and bullied him. Police are investigating the case as a serious one.

The Aaras Boduberu group of Rasdhoo consists mainly of children and young men, and they all visited the bully victim on Wednesday and gave him many gifts in condolences and to show their opposition to child abuse and bullying.

The 14-year-old boy that bullied the child was a member of this group. The group immediately dismissed him after the video of the bullying went viral.

Aaras Group said it opposes bullying and injustice and will do everything it can as youth of the island to protect it. The group also said that it will work with bully victims to help them overcome the trauma of it.

As the video of the child being abused became public, a number of young people, including those from Rasdhoo, went to the homes of the perpetrators and raised their voices in protest.
