The suspension of Ahmed Shamah Rasheed, CEO and Managing Director of the state-owned fish company Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO), has been lifted.
Shamah told Atoll Times on Wednesday that he was informed of the lifting of his suspension early on Tuesday and has returned to work.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) suspended the CEO of MIFCO in March last year.
Shamah said he was on suspension for 37 days.
The PCB had earlier issued a statement on Shamah’s suspension, saying it had been informed of cases related to him and had launched an investigation into them.
The PCB has received complaints about concerns in the operation of MIFCO and has been asked to rectify the issues.
The agency has also sent a letter addressed to the PCB whistleblower portal following complaints that MIFCO CEO Shamah is using the company’s resources for personal purposes and acting in violation of the company’s policies.
