A man has been arrested for robbing the Finland International School Maldives in capital Male.

According to the police, two persons stole into the school on Sunday morning and tried to commit robbery when the policeman, who was on duty there at the time, tried to stop them.  Police said that the thieves beat up the policeman and took off.

Following police work to apprehend the thieves, one of them was arrested under a court order early Tuesday morning in connection with the case, police said.

Police said:

  • He was produced before the Criminal Court and ordered to be remanded in custody for 15 days

  • The man arrested was a 42-year-old man 

  • Two of the three laptops they stole from Finland School have been recovered

Police said the case is still being investigated.
