Police to tow illegal vehicles in Hulhumale from Saturday

The work will be done in collaboration with the police, HDC and the transport ministry

Vehicles parked illegally on the streets of Hulhumale will be towed from Saturday, police announced Friday.

In their post, police said:

  • Such vehicles will be towed or moved to another area

  • The work will be done in collaboration with the police, HDC and the transport ministry

  • The work will start at 8 am

The public has always complained about illegal parking on the road for long periods of time. Such vehicles reduce the space available for driving on the road, causing inconvenience to pedestrians and increasing the risk of accidents.

With the recent increase in accidents, the government has launched a number of efforts to make the roads safer. These include patrolling accident-prone areas, increasing checkpoints and changing rules and laws.
