Police probe server hacking in Naifaru hospital
The hackers altered the databases stored on the server and added flaws.
Police are investigating a case of hacking the server of the Lh. Naifaru Hospital.
A police team has been sent to Naifaru on Monday. Police said the team was sent to investigate the hacking of the hospital's server.
Police said the case was reported to police on Thursday and a special investigation team from Male is active in Naifaru.
The Hospital’s Assistant Director Humaid Abdul Razzaq said that officers of the police cyber crime department are investigating the hacking.
The hackers altered the databases stored on the server and added flaws.
However, the hospital services are now available to the public without any deficiencies, he said.
“The patient management system is now fully functional and the hospital is providing the same services,” he said.
Naifaru is the atoll’s capital with a population of about 5,000 people. The hospital in the atoll also serves the people of the other three islands in the atoll. The population of the atoll is about 13,000 people.
