Mohamed Dawood, who was the Chief Superintendent of Police, has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).
Home minister Ali Ihusan has promoted Dawood, who has held several senior police posts and is currently the head of Hulhumale Police Station, to ACP.
ACP is the third highest rank after Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner. The two top police posts are appointed by the president.
In addition to Dawood, two chief superintendents were promoted to the highest administrative rank in June. They are:
