Ibrahim Noordeen has been removed from the board of the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), the operator of Velana International Airport (VIA).
Noordeen was dismissed from the company's board on Thursday.
Following the change, MACL's Board of Directors has been restructured, as communicated in a circular sent to employees Sunday. The circular lists the current five members of the board:

The Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) did not provide a reason for Noordeen's removal from the MACL board.
Earlier, MACL chairman Mohamed Umar Maniku also resigned.
The MACL board is mandated to have nine members, including the chairman. As a result, four positions on the Board of Directors of MACL remain vacant.
