New MIRA board member nominated
The nominations for the position were opened last month, and the eligible candidates have now been submitted to the parliament for approval.
The Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has initiated the process to appoint a new member to its Board of Directors, following the expiration of Deputy Tax Commissioner Asma Shafeeu’s term.

In accordance with the Administrative Taxation Act, MIRA’s board consists of seven members, including the Tax Commissioner and Deputy Tax Commissioner. Each board member serves a term of five years. The current board members are as follows:

While a candidate has been approved to succeed Asma Shafeeu, the individual has not yet been officially appointed, leaving the position temporarily vacant.
The president submitted the list of eligible candidates to the parliament on Monday, prioritising them as follows:
