
Suspect in Hulhumale axe attack remanded until trial end

One of the two men arrested in connection with the axe attack on a man near the Rehendhi turf grounds in Hulhumale on Saturday night has been remanded until the end of trial.

Police recovered a weapon and an axe suspected to have been used in the attack from the area.
According to a police message Monday, both suspects were presented before the Criminal Court for remand. The court ruled:

Rusthum Ibrahim to be held in custody for three days.

Saifulla Faisal to remain in custody until the completion of the investigation.
A video showing the arrest of the two men has been circulating on social media.
In a separate incident last week, two foreigners were involved in a fight inside a café, resulting in serious injuries to one individual.
Additionally, a man on Kanba Aisarani Magu was attacked by two men on a motorcycle using a mortar. Authorities also arrested several individuals on Saturday night in connection with another fight in the city.
