The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has dismissed its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following an investigation into the alleged illegal allocation of land and flats in Hulhumale.
An HDC official confirmed to Atoll Times that the CFO, Abdulla Faid, was dismissed Thursday.
According to the official, the decision was made after the completion of Faid's probation period, during which his performance was reviewed.
“He was on probation when he was suspended. When his probation expired, he was dismissed based on his performance,” the official stated.
In December last year, 15 employees, including Faid, were dismissed after allegations of fraud surfaced. However, they were later reinstated and placed under suspension. Some of these suspensions were lifted earlier this month.
Chief Business Officer Ahmed Yameen, who was among those suspended, has also been dismissed.
The case involves the alleged allocation of land in Uppsala to the brother of former HDC Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheeed under the Binveriya scheme, as well as allegations of land being sold at low prices and flats being allocated to individuals selected as winners.
Fazul was suspended from his position and later resigned.
