A park is to be developed on the site of the former Ghaazee Building in Malé, which was previously used to house government offices.
Construction and Infrastructure Minister Dr Abdulla Muththalib said on Monday that the project will be handed over to the Road Development Corporation (RDC).
The site is located behind the Shaheed Hussain Adam Building and is currently used as a parking area.
According to the minister, the project is part of efforts to increase public spaces in Malé.
The planned development includes a park with green areas and seating.
The Ghaazee Building was opened in 1982 during the administration of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
The building was demolished in 2023 due to its condition.
