The Ambassador of the Maldives to the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed Hussain Shareef, has been dismissed from his post along with two other officials.
Those removed include Dr Salma Rasheed, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Maldives to the United Nations Offices at Geneva, and Aminath Hussain Shareef, State Minister at the Ministry of Fisheries.
Information confirmed by Dhauru indicates that Shareef, who held ministerial rank as ambassador, was removed from his position on Monday morning.
His name has also been removed from the official website of the President’s Office. No official reason has been provided for the decision.
Dr Salma Rasheed serves at the Maldives Permanent Mission in Geneva, while Aminath Hussain Shareef holds a position at the Ministry of Fisheries.
