Contractors sought for international school in Hoarafushi

HA. Hoarafushi Island Council has announced that it is looking for contractors to build an international school in the island.
The school, to be built by Hoarafushi Council, will offer classes from pre-school to key stage 5. It has been decided that classes will commence from the academic year 2023-2024.
According to Hoarafushi Council, the purpose of building such a school is to provide pre- school and key stage level students with a world-class education system and modern facilities while studying in Hoarafushi.
The council will provide for this school, the sources said:

11,406 sq ft of land where fences have been constructed and gates have been installed

School building, playground and other school-related facilities will be set up there

Students will be provided seats and tables

The school administration will have to procure furniture for the staff

No rent will be charged to run the school
According to the council, the school will be handed over to a buyer for a period of five to 15 years. It added that the deadline can be extended as and when required.
