JSC suspends Hulhudhuffaaru chief magistrate for 2 months

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has suspended Ali Musthafa, Chief Magistrate of the R. Hulhudhuffaaru Magistrate Court, for two months.
The commission confirmed the suspension but did not disclose the allegations or the conduct that led to the disciplinary action.
In a statement, the JSC said the decision was taken after considering the nature of the case and information obtained during its investigation. It said the suspension was imposed in line with the need to maintain public confidence in the judiciary.
Under the JSC's regulations, complaints relating to alleged breaches of the judicial code of conduct are treated as confidential. As a result, the commission does not disclose details of the allegations while such matters are being handled.
