Police launch traffic operation in Male for Ramadan
According to the police, traffic on the Sinamale' Bridge and highway will be monitored round-the-clock during the fasting month.
In order to make the city a safer place for the people, traffic will be maintained in certain areas with special order during this fasting month.
In order to reduce traffic congestion in the city, the police said in a press release on Wednesday:

Traffic flow will be maintained during prayer hours to create an enabling environment for devotees to enter and exit mosques without difficulty

Efforts will be made to ensure that people are able to move around without any hassles in market and other purposes

Police personnel will be deployed in the areas to check illegal parking near travellers’ market

During prayer hours, near mosques, evening hours and rush hours, zebra crosses will be monitored

Vehicles parked on pavements will be taken away

Street corners, school areas, hospitals, clinics, banks and offices, parks, special parking zones, all ferry terminals and vehicle parking areas will be monitored

Loading of goods will be faciliated and collected goods kept in parking zones to cause inconvenience to the people removed, and keep traffic vigil near various markets
According to the police, traffic on the Sinamale' Bridge and highway will be monitored round-the-clock during the fasting month. Police personnel will be deployed to put up barricades, slow down speed and reduce violations to slow down the speed of vehicles driving on the lanes of the bridge.
Pointing out that there are more people on the roads in the evenings, the police said that during those hours, special attention will be paid to the traffic on the roads and at different times, the bus stops will also be watched in close proximity.
