Even when the police issued a deadline to remove the vehicles parked in the newly paved area on Ameenee Magu, people have not stopped parking vehicles there.
The increasing parking of vehicles in the paved area on Ameenee Magu had caused the public difficulties in commuting on the newly renovated road of Male. Following concerns, the police gave a three-day deadline on July 5 to remove the vehicles from there.
However, a large number of vehicles were parked on the Henveiru section of Ameenee Magu on Sunday as well.
In particular, there were a large number of vehicles parked on the south side of the road (near Dharubaaruge and Imaduddin School). Some of the vehicles even bore traffic violation stickers.
Police earlier tweeted:
-
Traffic jams due to illegal parking on Ameenee Magu
-
It makes it difficult for pedestrians and vehicles
-
The vehicles were given three days from July 6 to remove them
-
If the vehicles are not removed within that period, they will be towed
The development of Ameenee Magu is being carried out by RDC.

The work was awarded for MVR 84.4 million

The planning ministry awarded the contract to the RDC on July 3 last year to complete the work within 210 days, but it has been delayed to September
