The president promised to build another airport in Laamu atoll while meeting with supporters in Isdhoo on Monday during his presidential election campaign tour.

With more details about the airport, the president arrived in Hithadhoo on Tuesday and announced the airport development there as well.
The president said that islands like Hithadhoo, Kunahandhoo and Mavah need easy air access and a decision has been taken on the proposals submitted by the people of those islands.
“We will build an airport in the next term that will be easily accessible,” he said.
