“Roashany”, the cargo vessel that had run aground on a reef between Vaavu atoll Fulidhoo and Thinadhoo islands, carrying MVR 6 million worth of goods enroute to Gaafu Dhaalu atoll, has been salvaged.
The boat was salvaged by divers from the MNDF Coast Guard and the crew of the boat, and the work was completed at 11:10 am on Sunday.
According to a person who spoke to Atoll Times from the boat:

There were 16 people on board; no one was injured

The cargo on board is estimated at MVR 6 million

"The GPS showed a dot when the boat ran aground on the reef. It didn't show that there was a reef there," the man said when asked what caused the incident.
