The Ministry of Social and Family Development has launched the ‘Ufaaveri Raasthaa’ (Happy Journey) programme for 60 senior citizens at the Kaafu atoll Guraidhoo Home for People with Special Needs.
The programme provides awareness sessions with interactive activities for the elderly and will be conducted by professionals working in various fields.
The aim of such a programme, according to the ministry is to integrate the elderly folks living in the special needs centre with the island community and help them to stay healthy.
Wednesday's session was conducted by nurses and social workers. The session provided information on:
