The statement, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed the Maldives' strong disapproval of the incident, describing it as "a serious violation of the sanctity of one of the holiest sites of the Muslim Ummah."

The Maldives expressed deep concern about the repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israel. The statement highlighted the potential impact of such actions on regional peace and stability, emphasising the Maldives' concern over the ongoing situation.

"These repeated incursions by Israel into the Al Aqsa Mosque threaten the hopes for achieving peace and stability in the region," the statement read.

In its statement, the government of the Maldives reiterated its support for the Palestinian people and called on the international community to work towards finding a peaceful and lasting solution to the conflict.

"The Government and the people of the Maldives stand in solidarity with the brotherly people of Palestine," the statement said, urging global cooperation in resolving the issue.
