Immigration department said on Thursday that 273 foreigners whose visas were invalid were issued notices on Wednesday.
The Immigration department on Wednesday conducted a special operation in capital Male to check illegal immigrants.

During the operation, notices were issued to 273 foreigners whose visas were invalid and 120 Maldivians who employed them illegally were given written advice, the Immigration said.
During the inspection, 10 foreigners were arrested and taken into custody, the agency said.
More than 3,000 people have been deported so far in the crackdown on illegal immigrants.
