A motorcycle parking zone has been developed on the land where the Huravee Building previously stood, the Ministry of Construction said on Sunday.

According to the ministry, the site has been designated for motorcycle parking and can accommodate 224 vehicles. A ministry official said more than 200 parking spaces have already been created at the location.

The area houses several government offices, where demand for parking has been noted.

The Huravee Building was demolished in 2022 after the structure collapsed and remained unusable for a period. The building was among the early three-storey government office buildings in the Maldives and was opened during the second term of former president Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
