MVR 2 has been decided as charge for the service of the buggy.

Male City Council on Monday launched a buggy service in Villimale, with the council to provide the service free of cost till Eid-ul-Fitr.

Male Mayor Dr Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated the service along with an app to use the service, at a ceremony held in Villimale Monday evening.

MVR 2 has been decided as charge for the service of the buggy.

If a buggy is rented for private trips, the cost for a trip is:

  • Four-seat buggy - MVR 6

  • 6-seat buggy - MVR 10

  • 12-seat buggy - MVR 15

Students in uniform, those below the age of six, those above 65 years of age and differently-abled persons registered with NSPA will be able to travel in the buggy free of cost.

On January 20, the government handed over the RTL bus service to MTCC while the council was working to provide buggy services in Villimale. The service charges MVR 5 per person.

When the council was about to start the buggy service in Villimale, MTCC launched its bus service and the city council criticised it as a waste of money.
