MET office on Monday warned that heavy rainfall and rough seas are likely to continue in the north and central parts of the country for the coming few days.
Heavy rain and rough seas have been observed across the Maldives for the past two weeks as the south-west monsoon enters its final leg. Although the southern atolls were heavily affected by the rains, the weather has been rough in the north and central atolls as well.
According to the Met office, the weather conditions are likely to remain the same in these areas for the next few days. In particular, it warned of heavy rainfall and rough seas.
"The rain and wind will likely calm down only after Wednesday. This will result in calmer seas," a MET official said.
